I READ WHERE I AM
PUBLICATION
This is a book that I designed with a fellow classmate, Kelsey Sugg. We were given many short essays about design and given the freedom to choose which essays to use and how. My partner and I selected selected 14 of the essays which we found had a theme. Half of them represented pro-print ideas, and half represented pro-technology ideas. We thought it would be a nice juxtaposition for the collection to explore two sides of design.
To communicate our concept of this duality, we divided the book in half. The red half features the pro-print articles, and the blue half is for pro-tech. The center of the book flips upside down when you get to the other side, therefore indicating the jump from one medium to the other.
Designing this book with so much free reign was a little intimidating but overall a very fun process. It was also my first experience working with a partner which went very well. Our ideas meshed very well together and we built off of each other’s strengths.
